The proposed annual budget for the Atlantic Avenue BID is $240,000.

Based on this, each commercial property will pay $20.33 per frontal foot of property.  This works out to an annual assessment of $508 for a 25 foot property, the average in the district, and is equal to a daily investment of $1.39 for all services provided by the BID.

By law, residential property owners pay $1, while government, non-profit and religious properties are exempt from paying the assessment.

Below is a breakdown down of the budget:

  • Marketing and Promotion: additional events, banners, shopping guides, holiday lights — 30%
  • Beautification and Streetscape: preservation of historic lighting, sidewalk plantings, tree guards and maintenance, store signage program — 7%*
  • Sanitation: sidewalk sweeping, snow shoveling , litter removal — 17%
  • Advocacy and Operations: zoning, crime, traffic, parking, working with elected officials, profeesional and administrative costs — 46%

*programs such as store signange are funded through grants which would be expected to continue
