It’s official!

I’m thrilled to announce that Mayor Bloomberg signed our BID into law on September 27, 2011. After three+ years of hard work, we are now the City’s 65th Business Improvement District. Thanks to all the stakeholders for their continued support and patience.

Funding for our BID will arrive in April, so expect to see services begin this Spring.

City Council Hearing Date Confirmed

for Thursday, September 8 at 10am. Now we are really on the homestretch!

City Council to vote on June 14, 2011

The public hearing on April 28 went smoothly and we were informed that the City Council will hold a vote on June 14, 2011 for the creation of our BID. Any complaints need to be filed in writing within 30 days of our April 28 public hearing: by May 28. Forms may be obtained at the City Clerks office. Thank you supporters – we are on the home stretch.

The Steering Committee is thrilled to announce that we received a unanimous vote in support of our plan from the Economic Community Development subcommittee of Community Board 2 (CB2). Thank you to all the CB2 members and district stakeholders who attended and asked thoughtful questions.

This vote will act as a recommendation to the full CB6 who will vote on Nov. 10. Thank you to all the CB6 members who attended and asked thoughtful questions.
